with a personal estate worth $500 and real estate worth $1800.
The 1880 Nebraska Census (Johnson County, Volume 5, ED 305, Sheet 26, Line 44) shows that William was born in Prussia, not Bavaria as the 1870 Iowa census shows. The 1880 Nebraska census shows William Brehm and family in Spring Creek, Johnson County, Nebraska. There is also a 10 year difference in the ages for William and Elizabeth between the 1870 Iowa census and the 1880 Nebraska census.
William's German name is Wilhelm, although in most American documents it is spelled, William. - Don Harrold, August 1, 2001.
