Chapman Lonnie Oliver

  General Notes:

Chapman lived in the Yellow Water area of Duval County after coming to Florida from Georgia. He is listed in the 1860 Duval County Census. Most of his adult life was lived in Baldwin, Florida moving there in 1896.
Chapman Oliver helped organize the First Baptist Church of Baldwin in the 1890's. He was one of the first Deacons.

The 1885 Schedule 2 Agricultural Census indicated that Chapman owned the following;

Land - 8 Acres (tilled)
Farm Value - farm including land, fences and buildings = $150.00, implements and machinery = $9.00, Livestock = $225.00.
Horses on hand June 1, 1885 - 1
Cows on hand June 1, 1885 - Milk = 8, Other = 6
Sheep for 1884 - Lambs dropped = 70
Swine on hand June 1, 1885 = 75
Poultry on hand June 1, 1885, - Barnyard = 17
Egg production 1884 - 80 dozen
Cereals 1884 - Indian Corn 5 Acres = 50 bushels, Oats = 90 bushels
Sugar 1884 - Cane, areas in crop 2 Acres, Molasses = 11 gallons
Potatoes for 1884 - Sweet, 1 Acre = 400 bushels
Forest Products - amount of wood cut in 1884 = 10 cords
Value of forest products sold or consumed in 1884 = $100.00


On April 18, 1910, the 1910 Census was taken. At that time Chapman was listed as a Merchant at a General Store in Baldwin, Duval County, Florida.

Om February 24, 1920, the 1920 Census was taken. At that time Chapman (age 69) was listed as a Salesman in a retail grocery store in Baldwin, Duval County, Florida.

Chapman married Sarah Maria Hughes on Apr 23, 1871. (Sarah Maria Hughes was born on Jul 18, 1849 in Yellow Water, Duval County, Florida and died on Sep 13, 1935 in Baldwin, Duval County, Florida.)
